At Global Sailing we believe sustainability is an extremely important principle and endeavor to achieve it wherever possible. Small day to day changes can make a huge difference and we are proud to be doing our part.

 

Our boats are equipped with solar panels to ensure we are utilizing renewable energy. This energy is used to support our limited plastic lifestyle by powering our refrigerator, where we keep our reusable water bottles, and powering our ice maker, allowing us to serve cold beverages in an eco friendly matter. No single use appliances on board either, we gladly offer out our cups & utensils to any passengers, and happily take them back to wash & reuse later on. Any trash that is brought on board by passengers is also collected by us so we can recycle it where appropriate at the end of the day. When it comes to maintaining our boat, we use biodegradable soaps and cleaners to ensure the environment is not harmed by our lifestyle.

Sustainability will have a positive impact on the environment that surrounds us, however that environment is not only the landscapes, but the people as well. We are honored to have a working arrangement with some of the local people as part of our business. When you join us for a private tour with an included lunch, it is something that is prepared by a local family of Taganga. This supports them to continue practicing their traditional fishing & cooking ways as their ancestors have for generations, whilst contributing to their income.
